Strengthening & repair of infrastructure
The stepwise prestressing method provides several benefits in the area of strengthening and repair such as:

  • Prevents crack fault propagation
  • Substantially increases load carrying capacity of structural member
  • Easy installation and maintenance due to no need of mechanical anchorages

 

Reinforced glulam timber
Tenroc strengthening glulam beams using pre-stressed fiber composite materials. By introducing composite materials into glulam beams as an additional last production stage, we are able to increase their strength by up to 60% because of the cambering effect achieved.

Due to the specific stepwise pre-stressing method, shear stresses in the adhesives used will not be above critical levels and no delaminating will occur. Therefore, additional anchoring devices in the beams are not necessary, allowing for easy installation and maintenance.
